JERK
David Brooks, accomplice to serial killer Dean Corll in the murder of more than twenty boys in Texas during the seventies, has just discovered the art of puppetry while serving his life sentence in prison. His reconstruction of the horrific crimes using glove puppets is a crafted performance, presented to an audience of psychology students – you.
Like nothing you have ever seen before, this re-imagining of a killer’s crimes bristles with savage brutality and horrifying violence. It is invariably strange and sombre, poetic and captivating.
We don’t say this lightly:
jerk will leave you stunned and shaken at the gruesome visual world you create around this deceptively stark set. Based on cult author Dennis Cooper’s novella of the same name.
