OUR PROJECT CATALYSTS GET READY FOR FESTIVAL DOMINATION OUR PROJECT CATALYSTS GET READY FOR FESTIVAL DOMINATION
Our lovely PROJECT CATALYST have been working as hard as ever and as we head towards our favourite time of year - festival season - they are popping all over the place. If you're planning your festival viewing for this year's ABSOLUT Fringe and Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival, make sure you make these guys part of your itinerary. Last year's Spirit of the Fringe award winners The Company are back with us in the Space Upstairs with a brand new show as part of ABSOLUT FRINGE. As You Are Now So Once Were We takes a look a Joyce's Ulyesses through a fresh pair of eyes, asking why so many people haven't read it (they haven’t read it themselves… yet). The exhaustingly energetic THEATREclub, not content with doing one show at this year's ABSOLUT FRINGE, are actually attempting three whole shows - where do they get the energy? Heroin, Maximum Joy and Shane Byrne Left his Sleeping Bag in the Car Again.... are all running at Smock Alley Theatre during the festival. Making Strange are hitting Panti Bar during Fringe with True Enough! The Interactive Post-Fact Game Show With Real Cash Prizes. An interactive Game Show designed to teach you how to cope in a changing landscape of truth - and everyone gets to play! Priscilla Robinson is looking for people to help her as she sets about running her own charity shop during this year's Fringe. Follow her blog to find how you can help, how's she's getting on and what treasures you can buy. After the success of Victor & Gord we're delighted to see Una McKevitt return to the Cube as part of Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival with her new show 565+. This time she's bringing her aunt Marie with her. Marie's a school teacher who began attending the theatre seven years ago on the advice of her doctor. Since then it's become her therapy and she's now seen over 565 plays. 565+ is her story. Project Brand New are making their second appearance at Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival. This year in a special event titled The Magic If they ask a bunch of talented and exciting practitioners "If you could make a performance anywhere, with anyone, or anything, and a guarantee of success, what would it be?. The Magic If will present their answers to you over one day. Brokentalkers will present their latest project as a work in development at Temple Bar Galleries and Studios as part of Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival. The Blue Boy deals with the experiences of men and women who were incarcerated as children in catholic residential care institutions and attempts to give fresh theatrical voice to recently revealed stories of childhood abuse in Ireland. And finally keep an eye out for Una Santa Oscura in this year's Theatre Festival. Originally a presented in the Space Upstairs earlier this year the show gets it second outing in Smock Alley. Enjoy the festival fun and games, and we'll see you there. |
