PROJECT BRAND NEW AND BEALTAINE PRESENT GENERATION.

Find out how you could take part in this new initiative open to artists of all ages.

Project Brand New and Bealtaine present GENERATION

Ever wonder how established artists keep making great work?
Ever wonder how younger artists make fresh ideas?
Ever wonder what would happen if you put the two together?
Ever wonder what you could make.....  Now’s your chance to find out?

Project Brand New is an initiative for the performing arts, providing a framework for theatre, dance, music and live art practitioners to develop new work for the stage outside the traditional production mode. Bealtaine is a multi-disciplinary Arts festival celebrating creativity in older age.

Together PBN and Bealtaine invite artists of all ages and disciplines to take part in Generation, and help to discover what happens when inter-generational experimentation is given a home. Take a risk, try something new, work with artists of a different ilk, make something short over five days, show it to an audience and see what comes back.

It will all lead to one extraordinary night: an igniting of ideas fuelled by varying levels of age and experience.

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?
Submit an application and those successful will be placed with other artists and the collaboration will begin. If you already have partners in mind please suggest these in your application. All collaborations will receive creative support from one of the PBN producers during the course of the development period.

Your application should tell us:
  • About an idea you want to explore, and why Generation is the best way to do it.
  • What you do
  • What art you make
  • Your age
  • If you have mobility concerns
  • If you would need help finding accommodation or with transport
Applications must be received before 5.30pm on 9 April. Successful applicants will be notified by late April. Participants must be available for a development week beginning 25 May in Dublin, leading to a performance at Project Arts Centre on 30 May.
